For a second year in a row fashion designer, JOEY BEVAN, had the exclusive chance to showcase his remarkable wallpaper dress to PRINCE CHARLES at the Ideal Home Show 2012, London.
"It was an amazing experience to meet Prince Charles the first time, how many designers get to meet him twice in 12 months? It feels great to show him my garments especially as he has a keen interest in recycling which is something close to my own heart!"
Joey is currently travelling to and from America in the run up to showcasing his Land of the Lost Toys collection for the official America's Next Top Model Live event held in Toronto May 4-6 2012.

Y SALON Chosen For L’Oréal Colour Trophy Final
By Lisa JC
Newcastle based hair salon, Y SALON, have won a prestigious place at the 2012 L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final in London.
The talented team at Y SALON took their knowledge of catwalk trends and true hairdressing expertise out of the salon and straight to the live competition floor inside Savilles Hall, Leeds. Having competed against more than 65 of the North East's best salons, Y Salon bagged a sort after place at the 57th annual L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final. There they will continue to compete against the best in the UK.
Angela Lowery and team had 45 minutes to create a stunning model look. The finished look was immaculately classic yet modern reflecting some of the current catwalk trends.
The highly anticipated regional hair tour hits over seven regions up and down the UK finding Britain’s most talented and creative hairdressers. Celebrity host Phil Clifton, current presenter of C4s Freshly Squeezed and recent backstage reporter at The Brits, took the audience through the energetic show. Just before the long awaited awards were read out the audience were treated to a stunning fashion show by acclaimed London Fashion Week designer Kinder Aggugini with an exclusive collection taken straight from the runways of his 2012 Autumn/Winter and Spring /Summer Fashion Week shows.
Over 900 creative salons nationwide entered a photographic entry yet Y SALON goes on to represent the North East region and hopefully secure the overall L’Oréal Colour Trophy.
Colour Trophy judge and acclaimed hairdresser Chris Williams explained: "The L’Oréal Colour Trophy is a great competition and one of the biggest events in the industry; winning can take you into being infamous in the world of hairdressing."
Y SALON owner Angela said: "The look was inspired from the Anna Sui and Lauren Scott collections but also films including The Artist and The Changing. We really wanted to create a fashion forward wearable look that could easily be adapted to the client."
The L’Oréal Colour Trophy Grand Final kicks off on Monday 28th May inside the Grosvenor House Ballroom, Park Lane, London.

REVIEW: GARNIER Miracle Skin Perfector B.B. Cream
Review by: Lisa JC
Skin Type: Combination
I heard so much about the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector and since February I have been on the hunt for the ultimate day time tinted moisturiser that not only gives you a healthy glow, it gives you fantastic coverage too.
This B.B. cream, short for Blemish Balm, is a hybrid skin care product combined with the benefits of make-up. The product confesses many pro points such as a light texture, sheer coverage, 24hr hydration and of course, SPF.
Here at NLCbeauty we absolutely adore products that have an SPF, so straight away it ticked a huge box! However, when trying and testing the cream I was left disappointed.
Bare in mind my skin type is combination and sometimes prone to breakouts. If you have this skin type, beware. My skin felt too hydrated, to the point where my face looked permanently oily. This would be most suited to a person with a normal/dry skin type.
One thing I did like about the cream was it's coverage. It certainly lived up to its expectations in that regard.
Does it live up to the hype?
Yes/No. Be aware of your skin type when buying a cream. This product might not have worked for me but could work brilliantly on someone else.

NLC LOVES: THE BODY SHOP Tea Tree Face Mask
This week has been a bad skin week, not great for confidence and there is no miracle that will make them disappear on demand. However, I can recommend a product that over time can help clear skin whilst leaving it feeling clean and refreshed after each use.
THE BODY SHOP Tea Tree Face Mask. Tea Tree is renowned for it's anti-bacterial properties and also reduces inflammation.
The mask smells so fresh it leave your skin tingling clean. Use 2-3 times a week on problem areas or all over the face and neck for best results.
Available at The Body Shop, priced £9.

LEE SCULLION for CHRISTOPHER NIARA SS12
By Lisa JC
North East photographer LEE SCULLION photographs fashion designer CHRISTOPHER NIARI's Spring/Summer 2012 collection.
Originally from Seaton Delaval, Christopher Niari's tailored inspired collection is a blend of classic corsets and lingerie combined with splashes of deep purples and bold blues. The collection expresses individuality and is fearless on making a statement, precisely the mix Niari wanted to create. He said: "All I want to do is art and fashion; as it's all about self-expression. I aspire to create timeless pieces."
Niari, 18, definitely pays homage to Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen throughout the collection making subtle references with tartan fabrics and flamboyant layered gowns. He explains: "I describe McQueen and Westwood as fashion rebels because they put their stamp on British fashion.
"Westwood started the whole grunge, punk and rock movement that many people still wear today... Alexander McQueen always thought out-of-the-box and did things very extraordinary; whether people liked it or not."
Having previously worked with international fashion designer Scott Henshall, famous for making the world's most expensive dress, Niari continues to make his mark on the fashion industry. Last year saw him creating designs to be showcased at Miss Newcastle 2011 and has worked with models who regularly walk the runway for Vivienne Westwood and Missoni.
"So far I have been making clothing and accessories for clients and I am now beginning seasonal collections to show in various fashion weeks and events," said Niari. "I have Newcastle fashion week coming up as well as a showcase in June for my Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collection, which promises to be bigger and better than spring/summer. It includes thousands of feathers, human hair, fetish corsets and prosthetic make-up."
Newcastle Fashion Week will be show casing Niari's designs this coming May.

REVIEW: GOOD THINGS Skincare
The GOOD THINGS Skincare range has been developed by award-winning beauty writer ALICE HART-DAVIS who has used her years of experience in the beauty industry. The Good Things range uses super fruit beauty boosters in gentle, super effective formulations and is specially designed to make the most of young skin. Good Things Skincare is free from parabens, mineral oils, sodium laureth sulphate, animal ingredients and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
WIZARD PR were kind enough to send NLCbeauty three products from the Good Things Skincare range and here are the results!
Review by: Lisa JC
Skin type: Combination
Tried and tested for 2 weeks
DEEP CLEAN Blackhead Exfoliator
This product is specially designed for skin prone to breakouts. Falling under this category I was keen to see how it shaped up to the many previous products I have tried over the years.
The exfoliator is gentle enough to use everyday and instructs you to focus on circular motions around the T-zone area. After using this product my skin felt thoroughly cleansed without stripping my skin of its natural oils.
What is fantastic about all of the Good Things range is that they smell amazing!
This product is enriched in beauty boosting ingredients papaya and licorice acting as an anti-inflammatory whilst brightening your skin.
The Blackhead Exfoliator really did live up to its name leaving my skin noticably clear after 2 weeks of using it.
NLC rating: ****
Price: £4.99
MIRACLE MATTIFIER Moisturiser
The Miracle Mattifier has to be my favourite of all the Good Things Skincare range. I struggle to find a moisturiser that suits my combination skin. Moisturisers are either too oily are don't have enough moisture which dries my skin out. But this product is a miracle! It contains blackcurrant and goji berry superfruits that manage to pull off a clever balancing act. Your skin feels like it literally drinks in the cream but at the same helps absorb any excess oil. Skin appears smooth, matte, and smells delicious! This is the golden key of moisturisers.
NLC rating: *****
Price: £7.99
STOP THAT SPOT! Clearing Gel
This has to be the product I was most wary of. Having used so many anti-blemish gels since my teens I had yet to find one I could fully trust. However I was pleasantly surprised when using the gel. After five minutes of letting the product sink into the affected areas of my skin redness was reduced. For me the ultimate test is seeing the difference in your complexion in the morning and the affected areas had definitely improved. Since using the gel for 2 weeks it has not completely erased every blemish on my skin but I would rate it as an effective treatment. The anti-bacterial clearing gel sets itself apart from your average spot treatment as it contains extracts of willow bark, liquorice, papaya and acai that keeps any blemishes under control.
NLC rating: ***
Price: £4.99
"A gentle skincare routine can help keep problem skin under control," says Alice Hart-Davis, the creator of Good Things. "Oily, sensitive skin and combination skin will all respond to careful, consistent cleansing and moisturising. The sooner you start looking after your skin and get to know what it needs, the easier it is to have great skin for life."
Good Things Skincare is available from leading Boots, Superdrug, Sainsbury's stores nationwide and www.goodthingsbeauty.com

SUMMER SKIN 24 Carat Hair & Beauty Launches St.Tropez DARK
ST TROPEZ Dark Self Tan range is set to be huge this summer being specifically designed to provide the darkest, most intense colour yet.
The range consists of an ultra-absorbent lotion or a formulation mousse, which both contains innovative melanin technology to ensure a tan tailored to your skin-tone.
Boasting extra skin conditioners and protective ingredients, this provides a streak-free, even colour which lasts for longer without any patches.
The great news is the tan contains Aromaguard TM fragrance technology. This helps to virtually eliminate the self tan smell by up to 70%.
The new St Tropez Dark range is available as a spray tan at 24 Carat Hair & Beauty, Sunderland, for £25.00. Owner Jodie Breeds is launching the new range on the 15th March, for an introductory price of £12.50 and a free gift to the first 24 customers. Appointments are going fast so to take advantage of this great offer contact Jodie on 0191 567 6565.
We also have some great tips for achieving this look at home.

The DIY Jet Set Tan as seen at London Fashion week is going to be huge in 2012.
Step one: To create the look, Nichola Joss skin finishing expert for St.Tropez used two coats of the New Self Tan Dark Mousse onto the skin with an application mitt
Step two: For a super luxe, high polished finish, run St.Tropez Shimmer Stick down the back and front of legs to elongate each limb
Step three: For a less dramatic, daytime look, brush St.Tropez Bronzing Rocks on legs and arms
"This season St Tropez offers a diverse collection of fashion tans to work with all skin colours and tones," Nichola Joss, St Tropez
